Meet Tage

Three years ago, Tage asked about everything.

What about the restaurant menu. What about the hotel. What about the work trip. What if he missed a session. What about the caesar salad, the concert, the weekend at his brother's.

He wasn't being difficult. He was doing what most men do when they finally decide to change something: treating every ordinary day as a threat to the plan.

He works at sea. Boats, docks, weeks away from his own kitchen, long stretches in hotels and seamen's quarters where someone else decides what's for dinner.

Every one of those was a question he didn't have an answer to.

Today he doesn't ask. He already knows.

02

The challenge

The first stretch went the way everyone hopes. Ten kilos off. Clothes that stopped fitting. A man who could see it working.

Then came the part almost nobody gets to.

Instead of dieting harder, we went the other way — more food, heavier training, building muscle on purpose. His calories went up. The scale went up with them. Month after month.

That is the hardest thing to ask of a man who has just lost ten kilos.

He'd message about a 600-gram swing after a cup of coffee. Now he was being told to eat more and watch the number climb for months.

He did it anyway. His reason was simple: he trusted that I knew what I was doing.

We measured the right thing

Tage didn't need a stricter plan. He needed a longer view, and better evidence.

Packs his own kitchen scale for hotel weeks

Orders the steak and potatoes instead of the fries

Has the 95-calorie drink while the table drinks beer

Walks into an unfamiliar gym in a strange town and trains

None of that is willpower. It's what happens when you've done something long enough that it stops being a decision.

Training, nutrition and accountability — all in one app.

3 years later

The scale only moved five kilos.

Everything else changed.

A waist ten centimetres smaller than the day he started

Muscle built on purpose, in planned phases

Deadlifts 100 kg for sets of thirteen

Walks into unfamiliar gyms on work trips without thinking about it

He stopped asking what to do on a work trip. He just does it.

"I'm starting to get good at this."

Looking back

Tage finished up a few days ago.

That's not the sad part of this story. It's the whole point.

Three years was long enough to stop needing a coach.

He knows how to eat on a work trip.

He knows what to do when the scale sits still for a fortnight.

He knows the difference between a bad week and a failure and he knows what a building phase is for.

That's the job. Not clients who pay forever. Clients who leave knowing exactly what they're doing.

RESULTS AT A GLANCE

Waist down 10 cm

From 97 to 87

Muscle built

Training gave him it back
